Time Alone With Steven
A friend of mine told me last week that she was going to the Bahamas for a vacation... My immediate response was, WOW! A lot of money for your family to go... She has a family the size of mine... she put the breaks on that thought... "The kids are NOT going!" my light bulb flickered a little... "This is our annual trip with out kids. We take a trip every year, just us. It is important to us to have that time. Even for a couple of days, every one married needs to spend time together." At this point my bulb started to shine. Steven and I rarely have time together. We are always trying to make sure our children are not alone. And there are few people we would leave our children with. Needles to say she is right... Steven and I have yet to take a trip or go away for more than 10 hours without our children... however once or twice a month in the past 2 months I have had the oportunity to tag alone with him at work... Although he was working (driving) we had great conversation, created master plans and just enjoyed anothers company which in turn made us happier people... So the month of July 2008 life is okay but there has been a lot of tension (mostly because of my unemployment) but we have'nt had our time. So yesterday I left my children alone at home together until a friend picked them up for a birthday party. I jumped into the freightliner with Steven and rode off into the sunset... Again great conversation... Planned our camping trip for next week and discussed our future... I am greatful for the time I get to spend with my hubby. If you don't get time alone with your spouse make some. It is necessary... We are going away for our 14th Anniversary this September....
